U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command observes Native American Heritage Month at a November event hosted by the 23rd Quartermaster Brigade with guest speaker Chief Walt “Red Hawk” Brown, who was accompanied by fellow members of the Cheroenhaka (Nottoway) Indian Tribe of Southampton County. Pictured at the event are, from left, Thomas “Fishing Beaver” Boone, Bernard “Standing Bear” Wright, Vice Chief Ellis “Soaring Eagle” Wright, Command Sgt. Maj. Keune, 23rd Quartermaster Brigade Commander Col. Rieke, Chief Brown, 1st Lt. Luke Maclean, Pvt. Rodriguez, Beverly “Bare Foot” El, Mary “Morning Rain” Wilkerson and Teresa “Moon Star” Preston. Following his native presentation, Brown, a retired Army lieutenant colonel who is an Army-certified logistician, having a Master of Science degree in logistics management from the Florida Institute of Technology, was inducted into The Honorable Order of Saint Martin, which is an esteemed order of logisticians.
