The Chancel Choir of High Street United Methodist Church in Courtland will present its Christmas cantata, “The Word,” on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m. A church news release noted that this program will be a combination of some of the best songs from cantatas the choir has presented over the last 20 years and is the first music event in which the choir will be able to present a program with a full ensemble of 25 voices since the 2019 Christmas season, which was followed by the March 2020 COVID-19 shutdown. Church officials said, “Two rehearsals per week have been required to get this group ready, and per their director, Mike Pollard, this is a program that you will not want to miss.”
