Isle of Wight County real estate and car tax bills will still be due Dec. 5 despite a delay in their mailing.

According to Assistant County Administrator Don Robertson, the county provided billing information to a third-party vendor in October, but the mailing has been delayed due to issues on the vendor’s end.

Real estate and stormwater bills for the first half of the 2022-23 fiscal year and car tax bills for the second half of the 2022 calendar year were mailed Nov. 4, according to the county’s website.

The county anticipates citizens will begin receiving their bills next week, Robertson said.

According to the county’s website, failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the penalties and interest that will accrue if payment isn’t postmarked by Dec. 5.

Residents have the option of paying their bills online by logging onto http://www.co.isle-of-wight.va.us/treasurer/pay-your-bill-online/ or in-person at the treasurer’s office from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
