Franklin Police search for attempted murder suspect

The Franklin Police Department is searching for a Franklin resident it has identified as a suspect in an incident in which the suspect allegedly fired a gun into an occupied vehicle.

A Wednesday, Nov. 30, FPD news release stated that on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 6:54 p.m., police received a call for service in reference to a vehicle being struck by gunfire while being operated in the city of Franklin. 

The release noted that responding officers and detectives of the FPD investigated the incident and identified Deshawn Diamonte Patillo as the alleged shooter.

Police said that charges have been obtained against Patillo for attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, threatening to kill, reckless handling of a firearm, and assault and battery.  

Patillo, a 22-year-old resident of Franklin, is described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 215 pounds, the release stated, adding that Patillo has not been located, is currently wanted for these offenses and is considered armed and dangerous.

The FPD stated that this investigation is ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
