Franklin teen’s death ruled a homicide

Franklin Police Department stated Thursday, Nov. 3., that the body discovered Tuesday, Nov. 1, during the search for 17-year-old Ronnie Jerome Everette Jr., of Franklin, was identified by the state medical examiner’s office to be Everette’s body, and the cause of death has been ruled a homicide.
“The department is continuing its efforts to locate witnesses,” police said in a news release. “This investigation is ongoing.”

According to a previous FPD news release, at around 4:25 p.m. on Nov. 1, officers were conducting an active investigation into the disappearance of Everette, who had last been seen in the city by family Thursday afternoon, Oct. 27.
While on scene Tuesday the officers were alerted by activity they observed in the 700 block of Gardner Street in Franklin, the release stated. Upon arrival they reportedly discovered the body of the male subject that has now been identified as Everette.
It was Monday afternoon, Oct. 31, when the FPD first received information that Everette had gone missing, according to a release shared that evening. Police said he was last seen by family at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 when he was dropped off in the area of Berkley Court Apartments in Franklin.
