SUFFOLK – Douglas Wayne Vick, 54, passed away on Oct. 10, 2022 in Sentara Obici Hospital. He was predeceased by his mother, Susan Worsham Vick.

Doug was a 1986 graduate of Franklin High School and received an associate’s degree from Chowan University. He was an Eagle Scout, a former safety coordinator for International Paper and was the manager of Fastenal Company in Suffolk.

He is survived by his father, Jesse Alton “Sonny” Vick Jr.; two brothers, David Craig Vick (Michelle) of Brodnax and Brian Keith Vick (Kristene) of Shawboro, North Carolina; a niece, Trenity Vick; and three nephews, Brycen Vick, Blake Vick and Thomas Kirk Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16 in Poplar Spring Cemetery off of Homestead Lane in Franklin with the Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. Memorial donations made be made to Franklin Baptist Church.
