What is National Voter Registration Day? Celebrated every September, National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday that celebrates democracy. 

A news release from the Lambda Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. noted that Tuesday, Sept. 20, organizations across the nation will join in a coordinated effort to register eligible voters in preparation for Election Day.

The Lambda Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is joining this effort. On Sept. 20 from 4-7 p.m. at the Franklin Sportsman’s Association building, which is located at 1431 South St. in Franklin, the chapter will host a voter registration event to help anyone who needs to get registered to vote. 

“We are particularly interested in helping students and convicted felons start the process to be able to vote,” chapter officials stated in the release. “Spread the word — register to vote on National Voter Registration Day!”
