BOYKINS – Ernest Edward Sydnor Jr., 78, passed away Aug. 30, 2022. Born on Sept. 4, 1943 in Callao, Virginia, he was a son of the late Ernest Edward Sydnor Sr. and Mattie Obier Sydnor. He was also predeceased by a sister, Olive Sydnor McCoy.

er, Teresa S. Hall (David) of Warsaw, Virginia; a sister, Jean S. Sadler (Benji) of Callao, Virginia; a brother, Lewis F. Sydnor of Kinsale, Virginia; two grandchildren, Mikel and Makenzie Hall; several nieces and nephews and extended family, Chris Blythe.

He was a retired local supervisor for Virginia Power and was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 264 AF&AM in Herndon, Virginia. He was passionate about automobiles and loved building cars, chopping the tops, customizing, painting and also dirt track racing.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1 in Totuskey Baptist Church Cemetery, 637 Totuskey Church Road, Warsaw, Virginia with the Rev. Jesse Blythe officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday in Wright Funeral Home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Hunterdale Christian Church.
