On Saturday more than a 100 people attended the annual Gospel Fest that took place at Barrett’s Landing in downtown Franklin. The free event was produced by the local gospel group The Brothers In Christ. About five gospel music groups performed on stage. The groups included The Brothers In Christ, Johnny Ruffin Jr., God’s Boyz, Brothers in Unity of Virginia, The Southernaires of Suffolk and Maurice Yancey. The emcees for the afternoon event were Nancy Parham and Sandra Marshman. Among the vendors selling a variety of food and merchandise included Rod Spann of Point Blank Designs, E’Nez Sweet Treats and Eats, Tacoma Davis of Queenz Slush Bar, Raymekia Bynum of Strong Faith Life Fragrances & Home Décor, Kiera Dawson of Ki’s Kreations, St. Mary Paradise of Praise Church and more.
