Franklin High School football coaches took 19 young men that will be part of the Broncos football program this fall to Prospect Football Camp on July 14 at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium, home of the South Carolina State University Bulldogs. The camp was organized and run by the SCSU football coaching staff, which put attendees through a series of different agility drills, concluding with one-on-one drills in which campers faced off against each other. “I think our kids got to see the game at a different speed,” Franklin Head Coach Lamont Hill said. “I think it’s different when you line up across from that kid that you know nothing about; that’s when you really rely on technique to get that advantage. You win some, you lose some, but always get better and learn from every opportunity.” We commend Franklin’s coaches for giving their players this excellent training opportunity, and we offer praise to the players for embracing the chance given to them. Pictured are most of the FHS student-athletes who went to the camp, including Solomon Moody, DeMoreon Smith, Anthony Brown Jr., Jordan Duck, Shawn Battle, Derrick Perry Jr., Micah Daniel Scott, Travis Mabry Jr., Ahmad McNeil, Eli Brummel, Micah Artis, Thomas Hughes, Kenyon Richardson, Altavis Turner, Jalen Robinson, Markell Turner, Jaden Elliott and Kevin Williams.
