Soccer camps populated with enthusiastic participants

Another dynamic week of children playing sports concluded on July 15 as Rock Church Franklin hosted two soccer camps.

“It Might Get Loud” was more than just the theme of the week — it was also the story.

As 127 campers hit the fields on Lakeview Road, the excitement was electric. Temperatures hit record highs, while the kids hit record highs in enthusiasm.

Soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting and scoring were combined with lessons in being a good team player, encouraging others and loving all people. This combination created an environment for Rock Church Franklin Pastor Danny Dillon to share the story of Jesus, the reality of heaven and hell, and the necessity of loving others as Christ loves you.

We were excited that 18 children gave their lives to Jesus Christ during the week.

Developing their athletic skills is good, but showing the love of God to each child that comes through is so much more important.

“We have been doing Super Kids Soccer Camp for 15 years now, and God always shows up,” Dillon said. “As the camp has grown, we have seen just how important it is to keep kids active during the summer, but also to give them hope in Jesus at an early age.”

Super Kids Soccer Camp and Elite 58 Soccer Camp were both big successes this summer.

We live in a phenomenal community filled with exceptional youth. Look out, world — Franklin/Southampton County is coming, and it might get loud!
