Dear friends, neighbors and guests,

On behalf of the Board of Supervisors, I’m delighted to join the Fair Board in welcoming you to the 2022 Franklin-Southampton County Fair!

For over 40 years, the tranquil fairgrounds on New Market Road have awakened and transformed the dog days of summer with unparalleled excitement. Friends, neighbors, and visitors set aside their daily affairs to congregate and gather beneath the tall pines, celebrating all that is good about living in rural and small-town America.

I hope you’ll join us for an exciting few days of pig kissing, hog calling, watermelon eating, corn-hole and horseshoe pitching. Make sure to visit the fascinating display of antique tractors, the bountiful horticultural exhibits and the prize-winning 4H livestock. Cool off while perusing the educational exhibits and local art and crafts. Make time to enjoy the Queen’s Contest, Talent Show, Tiny Tots and Little-Miss Pageant. Enjoy a corn dog, a funnel cake, or a barbecue sandwich with slaw. And don’t forget to stake your position out early if you want a front row seat for the wonderful musical entertainment.
