Radford University presented undergraduate and graduate degrees during the spring 2022 commencement exercises, and Khambai Kato Parker, of Franklin, was among those receiving their Bachelor of Science in exercise, sport and health education.

A Radford news release stated that in all, the university conferred degrees on 1,165 undergraduate and graduate students from main campus and Radford University Carilion.

Nick Mayhugh, a 2018 graduate, delivered the message, “Be the best Highlander you can be,” as undergraduates eagerly awaited receiving their degrees during spring commencement ceremonies on Moffett Lawn. Mayhugh, who won three gold medals in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in August 2021, delivered the keynote address under gray, rain-threatening skies at the morning ceremony, and he offered an inspirational message to the class of 2022, speaking about his journey from being diagnosed with and overcoming a mild form of cerebral palsy and his transition from Highlander soccer player standout to an international track star.

Radford University is a comprehensive public university of 8,998 students that has received national recognition for many of its undergraduate and graduate academic programs, as well as its sustainability initiatives.
