He was predeceased by his wife of over 55 years, his parents and siblings Garland D. Creasey, Lucille C. Collier and Sabrah C. Cobb and a son in law, Dannie Cheek. Jimmy retired from Union Camp Corporation and Meherrin Peanuts and was the owner and operator of Sedley Printing. He was a faithful member of Grace Memorial United Methodist Church and the Sedley Volunteer Fire Department. He was a charter member of the Southampton Greys, a member of the Courtland Masonic Lodge, a former volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, a long time Red Cross blood donor, a member of the Rosemont Cemetery Committee and a true servant of the Sedley community.

Left here to cherish his memory is his daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Creasey Cheek (Tommy); his son, James Allen Creasey Jr.; daughter, Diane Creasey Ruple (Jerry); his very precious companion, Patricia Ann Carr; brother, Jewell Creasey (Shirley) and brother-in-law, Edward Williams (Ida); grandchildren, Jamie D. Cheek (Rachael), David Allen Cheek (Amanda), Dustin M. Clary, Emily H. Creasey (Andrew), Brandelyn C. Clements (Aaron) and Richard Allen Creasey; great-grandchildren, Mali and Leo Clements and his four legged child, Furbie. Jimmy had numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, special “adopted” family members and many treasured friends. Jimmy dearly loved his family, his friends and Sedley.

A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 9 at Grace Memorial United Methodist Church, followed by a graveside service in Rosemont Cemetery. The family is welcoming visitors at the residence and suggest memorials be made to the Sedley Volunteer Fire Department or to Rosemont Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home is assisting the family.
