The city of Franklin will host its annual Independence Day Celebration on Wednesday, June 29, in downtown Franklin.
A news release noted that the event builds upon the weekly Wednesday activities taking place in the city — the Franklin Cruise-in Car Show & Franklin’s Market on Main Farmers Market. The Independence Day Celebration will include both of those events starting at 4 p.m., live music by The Embers at Barrett’s Landing from 6-9:15 p.m., free hot dogs and watermelon courtesy of The Franklin Experience starting at 6:30 p.m., and the event will conclude with a fireworks display over the Blackwater River at 9:15 p.m.
Local shops and restaurants will also be open for holiday weekend shopping and dinner options. “We look forward to kicking off the holiday weekend celebrations with the community,” officials said.
