FRANKLIN – Mrs. Mary M “Peggy” Indilla, 91, passed away, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Franklin. Formerly from Brookhaven, Long Island, New York, she was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Anthony L. “Andy” Indilla and her daughter, Susan Mary.

Born April 1, 1931 in Newburg, New York, she was the daughter of the late John Francis Dolan and Bridget Bree Dolan.

Peggy graduated from St. Catherine’s Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, New York in 1952, had a life-long nursing career and after she retired and continued to be an invaluable resource for family and friends.

She was a faithful member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Franklin. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking for her family, a lover of books and an avid life-long reader and learner.

Peggy was an inspiration to all who knew her with a calm manner, intellect and involvement within her community as a volunteer in hospice and her church. She is survived by her children; Barbara (Larry) Salmiery of the Eastern Shore of Virginia; Carol, of Port Jefferson Station, New York; Jane Indilla Brown, of Franklin; Margaret Indilla Glennon, of Moriches, New York; Christopher, of Manorville, New York and Jennifer (James) Morrissey of Chesapeake and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services provided by the Wright Funeral Home. A funeral mass will take place at noon on Saturday, July 2 in St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Franklin. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, New York.
