HOT SPRINGS – Mrs. Doris Lee Colvin Kyle, age 91, of Hot Springs, died Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center, Clifton Forge. She was the wife of the late Rodney Warren Kyle.

Mrs. Kyle was born March 30, 1931 in Clifton Forge, the daughter of the late Robert L. Colvin and Mary Gaddy Colvin. A graduate of Central High School, she went on to attain an associate’s degree from Dunsmore Business College. While living in Franklin, Doris worked a number of years for Southhampton County Department of Social Services. She was an active member of Franklin Presbyterian Church and was heavily involved in the community’s theater and chorale. Following her retirement, Doris and her husband, Rodney returned home to the Falling Spring area. Mrs. Kyle became an active member of the Falling Spring Evangelical Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Doris was also a member of the Falling Spring Ruritans, the Alleghany Highlands Chorale, the Alleghany Historical Society and was a volunteer at the former Alleghany Regional Hospital. In her spare time, she loved watching birds and spending time in her garden.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kyle is survived by a son, Rodney Lee Kyle (Laura); two daughters, Lyn Kyle Manson (Bill) and Reba Ann Kyle Petrosky (David); three grandchildren, Mary Kyle Manson Wasilewski (Andy), Ashby Gresham Manson and Rodney Adam Kyle (Hannah); three nieces, two nephews and three cousins including special cousin, Jean J. Winfree.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kyle was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur M. Tyree and William C. Colvin.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Matlack officiating. Interment will follow in Falling Spring Evangelical Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 1 p.m. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Falling Spring Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 105 Edgehill Road, Hot Springs, VA 24445.
