Courtland man dies in motorcycle wreck on Joyners Bridge Road

A Courtland man died Saturday night in a motorcycle accident on Joyners Bridge Road.
Scott Leggett Woolard III, 43, was driving a 2014 Harley Davidson “at a high rate of speed” when he struck a deer, ejecting him into the roadway, where a 2010 Audi A5, traveling in the same direction as the motorcycle, struck Woolard, Virginia State Police said in a news release. The driver of the Audi, Anthony P. Brown of Chesapeake, was not hurt.
The accident occurred at about 11:25 p.m. a half-mile west of Hunt Club Road.
Woolard, a resident of the 21000 block of Bethel Road in Courtland, was pronounced dead at the scene.
