Franklin suspect sought after ‘domestic’ shooting in Suffolk

Suffolk police are looking for a Franklin man suspected of shooting another man Friday morning in the parking lot of the QVC Distribution Center off U.S. 460. The victim’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The suspect, Alvin Edward Sears Jr., was last seen driving a black Dodge Durango with Virginia license plate UEV-7984. He has outstanding warrants for aggravated malicious wounding, possession of firearm by convicted felon, use of firearm in commission of felony, shooting at occupied vehicle, violating protective order possession of firearm while subject to protective order and discharging firearm in a public place resulting in injury. 

Police responded to the shooting at 2:56 a.m. 

Police said the suspect and victim “are known to each other,” and a news release referred to the incident as a “domestic related shooting.”

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
