Organizers of The Courtland Hornets football and cheer teams recently partnered with the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office in a cleanup of the Bride Street area in Courtland. On Wednesday, May 11, children, parents, deputies and organizers took to the streets and removed loads of trash. Kashif Carter of Speaklife noted on the Courtland Hornets Facebook page, “What we are building in Courtland Hornets organization is bigger than football and cheer. We believe that every child has the potential to be a future leader so it’s our goal to expose them to numerous things that will help them better prepare for life.” We commend The Courtland Hornets and Cheer organizers, the Southampton County Sheriff’s office and parents for their dedication and good works in building the future leaders of tomorrow. Job well done everyone! (Send “Way to Go!” photos with a description and names to editor@TheTidewaterNews.com.)
