WINDSOR – Doris Bradshaw Stephenson, 97, passed away on May 23, 2022 in her home. She was a native of Southampton County and the last of 13 children of the late Robert and Almyra Pond Bradshaw. She was predeceased by her husbands, Edgar L. Turner and Robert W. Stephenson; sons, Earnest Lee Turner and Robert Harold Turner; sisters, Virginia Wade, Mary Parker, Gladys Holt, Viola Clark, Catherine Lowe, Lily Bradshaw, Martha Bradshaw and brothers, August, Reginald, Clinton, George and Alvin Bradshaw.

Doris was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and the High Street Seniors. She was a former employee of H.P. Beale and Sons and Duck’s Sausage.

Left to cherish her memory is two daughters, Carolyn T. Casey (Gerard) and Jean T. Green (Hoyle); a special sitter, Nicole; nine grandchildren, Bobby White, Ricky White, Terry Casey, Rena Hubert, Michael Green, Michelle Presson, Chris Turner, David Turner and Tabetha Dunlow; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Wright Funeral Home in Franklin with the Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. The burial will follow at Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 25. Memorial donations may be made to Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
