Franklin police investigate May 20 shooting that injured two

Franklin police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Franklin late Friday night, May 20, and left two people injured.

A Franklin Police Department press release stated that at approximately 11:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Forest Pine Road for a report of shots fired. 

Contact was made with Dahmir Bradshaw, a 19-year-old resident of Courtland, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his torso, police stated. Bradshaw was transported by Franklin Fire & Rescue to Bon Secours Southampton Medical Center, where he was then transported by air ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.  

The release, which was received Saturday afternoon, May 21, stated that at that time, Bradshaw was listed in stable but critical condition.

Shortly after arriving on scene, officers were advised that a second gunshot victim had been received by Southampton Medical Center, police stated. Officers responded and made contact with a juvenile victim who had received a non-life-threatening injury to a lower extremity.

Police said multiple vehicles and one apartment dwelling received damage as a result of the gunfire.
