COURTLAND – Pearl Jane Heikens, 85, widow of Harlan L. “Hike” Heikens, passed away April 30, 2022 in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Born in Bagley, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Carl John Schick and Erna Fisher Schick. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Darlene Susanne Harting and Lois Elaine Schick and three brothers, John Henry Schick, Richard Carl Schick and her twin, Earl James Schick.

Pearl served in the U.S. Army and was a retired LPN at East Pavilion with over 20 years of service. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Randy Heikens (Janet) of Franklin, Timmy Heikens (Ann) of Courtland and Robert Heikens (Rebecca) of Jarvisburg, North Carolina; three sisters, Joan Lucille Fogt, Jean Louise Newton and Lavonne Marie Hougen; three brothers, Robert Eugene Schick, Carl Junior Schick and Henry Albert Schick; four grandchildren, Racheal, Dillon, Desty and Camryn; a great-grandchild, Khloe Elizabeth Wrenn; over 30 nieces and nephews; over 60 great-nieces and nephews; and many great-great nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Kaye Hute and the Rev. Dennis Buchholz officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 25280 New Market Road, Courtland, VA 23837.
