One unbeaten team remains in youth hoops league

Action in the city of Franklin Parks and Recreation Department Winter Youth Basketball League continued Feb. 20 as fans poured in to watch the participants battle on the court at the Hayden Village Center Gymnasium. 

In the 6-to-8-year-old age group, team Enviva picked up another win, taking its record to 3-1. Team Smart Beginnings (2-2) dropped the front half of its doubleheader but regrouped to pick up a win in its second game against team Celebration Church (0-4). 

Team Celebration Church continued to dominate in the 9-to-11-year-old division with another victory, making it 4-0 on the season. Team Enviva picked up its first win of the year, taking its record to 1-3, while team Smart Beginnings took two losses on the day, making its record 1-3 for the season. 

It is still a close race in the 12-to-14-year-old division, with teams Enviva (2-2) and Celebration Church (3-1) both claiming victories over team Smart Beginnings, which fell to 1-3. 

The league’s season continued Feb. 27 at the Hayden Village Center Gymnasium.
