Southampton High School held its first Pharmacy Technician Pinning Ceremony on Feb. 4.

An SHS press release continued by noting that the pharmacy technician program is new to the school and offered a certification to 12 junior and senior students after completing an 8-week course with six classroom hours a week.

Dr. Lashion Porter, program director, and Alyssa Aguilar, certified pharmacy technician, taught the students in the Career and Technical Education building at SHS.

“I feel very blessed that I had the opportunity to take this class at such a young age,” program participant Grace Smith said. “Experiencing social and hands-on activities made us retain information extremely well.
