FRANKLIN – Christine “Chrissy” Snyder Joyner, 61, of Southampton County passed away Dec. 13, 2021 in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was born on Feb. 5, 1960 in Sunbury, Pennsyvlania to the late Charles Allen and Ann Daly Snyder.

Chrissy graduated from Franklin High School in 1978. She worked numerous jobs, but her all-time favorite was being a stay at home mom and eventually that title upgraded to MeMe.

She is predeceased by two of her brothers, Steven and Charles “Chuck” Snyder II; two brothers-in-law, Lonnie Adams III and Joseph “Joe” Joyner and a sister-in-law, Sandra “Sandy” Joyner.

Chrissy is survived by her loving husband, David, of 39 years; a son, Deke Joyner (Teri); a daughter, Lindsay Lanier (Rick); grandchildren, Dawson Joyner, Rylan Holloman and Corbin and Emeri Joyner all of Franklin; sisters, Pat Adams of Springfield, Virginia, Sharon Jillson (Jon) of South Haven, Michigan, Marianne Turner (Murray), Leslie Pearce (Bryan) and Sara Hasty (Travis) all of Franklin; a brother, Matthew Snyder (Renita) of Capron and a host of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021 from 2 – 4 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home with opening remarks by David and family prior to the visitation. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the ICU nurses at Sentara Obici or the Arthritis Foundation Virginia Chapter, 1506 Willow Lawn Drive, Unit 207, Richmond, VA 23230.

The family would like to personally thank the ICU nurses, doctors and staff for the great care provided.
