CAPRON – John Henry Smith, 72, passed away Nov. 30, 2021 in his home. Born in Richmond on Jan. 4, 1949, he was a son of the late Charlie Henry Smith Jr. and Lydia Mixon Smith.

John was a boiler plant operator for Southampton Correctional Center for 29 years. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy.

Left to cherish his memory is his fiancé, Karen Leigh Fraser; a daughter, Michelle Smith; a son, Neel Sexton; two sisters, Karen Abrahamian and Jane Carol Perkins (Alan); two brothers, Jerry Smith (Brenda) and Ricky Smith; a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021 in Wright Funeral Home in Franklin.
