Capron Elementary School hosted its first trunk-or-treat in conjunction with a Title I Virtual Annual General Meeting, and it was a huge success.

A school news release continued by noting that students and their families, some dressed in Halloween costumes, came out to drive around the parking lot to get special treats from the teachers and staff.

Families even received a surprise when some Southampton County sheriff’s deputies decorated their car and greeted them with candy.

“The children were so excited to drive through and receive free books, bookmarks, pencils, erasers and lots of candy,” school officials stated in the release, adding that the event, coordinated by Title I Reading Specialist Kathy Thompson, was a great way to have a good time connecting with the Capron Elementary families.
