FRANKLIN – Martha Ann McClenny Copeland, 90, passed away Oct. 31, 2021 in The Village at Woods Edge. Born and raised in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Felix McClenny and Garnette Ann Davis McClenny. She was also predeceased by a son, Thurman Davis “Dave” Copeland.

Ann was a graduate of Franklin High School and Mary Washington College. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and a former Snow Queen for several years with Santa at Miller and Rhoads. Her favorite joys in life were her children and grandchildren and spending time on her family farm and her riverfront getaway in Surry.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 68 years, Thurman Graham Copeland; two sons, Peter F. Copeland (Vicky) and Jeffery G. Copeland (Susan); six grandchildren, Graham Copeland, Amber Casstevens (Chad), Landon Copeland (Lyndsay), Nicole Copeland, Christopher Copeland and James Copeland; and six great-grandchildren, Maddy, Evelyn, Samson, Rose, Ruby and Rutledge.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502 or a charity of your choice.
