BOYKINS – Mary Ellen Simms, 94, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021. She was the daughter of the late J.W. and Mae Darden. She is predeceased by her husband, Linwood G. Simms and son, Thaxton Keith Simms. She was a member of Boykins Baptist Church and its choir.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Debra Lynn Simms Carr and her fiancé, Joseph Clark; numerous nieces and nephews and best friend, Gladys Baughan.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. in Suffolk Christian Church officiated by the Rev. Michael Halley and the Rev. Raymond Bunn. The family would like to send thanks to the staff at East Pavilion for their loyalty and patience caring for Mrs. Simms.
