SUNBURY, North Carolina – Deanna Holt Iverson Eure, 83, of 110 Silver Springs Road, passed into the arms of the Lord on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021.

Born in Norfolk, on Aug. 3, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Mason and Gustava Huff Holt. She lived most of her life in Norfolk, where she graduated from Granby High School, raised six children, and was the Head of the Nursery at Bayview Baptist Church for nearly 20 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roger E. Iverson Sr., and by her youngest son, Gordon Frederick Kariger IV.

Surviving is her husband of 26 years, Edsel Ford Eure; her children, Roger Iverson (Sherrie) of Lexington, South Carolina, Brian Iverson (Brenda) of Church Road, Virginia, Wendy Kariger Forsman (Jeff) of Gates and Kara Kariger Williams of Ivor; stepchildren, Cheryl Pope (Ronnie) of Frisco, Chuck Eure (Melinda) of Sunbury and John Eure (Joy) of Fredericksburg; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life is planned for Sunday, Sept. 26, at 1:30 p.m. in Abundant Hope Baptist Church, and will be conducted by her pastor, Dr. Walter Black. A private burial will be in the family plot at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk.
