FRANKLIN – Beatrice Benson “Bea” Ross, 86, gained her angel wings and has joined her husband, Ralph Ross on Sept. 15, 2021 surrounded by her family. Bea will be remembered as a gentle, caring mother and doting grandmother. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Ralph Ross; parents, Jessie and Clara Mae Benson; a brother, Jessie James and a sister, Dorothy Vaughan.

Bea is survived by her three lovely daughters, Sue Martin and husband Ed, Wanda Carrier and husband Lenny and Kathy Gideon and husband Vijay; David Kloster (Annette); five adoring grandchildren, Michael Kloster (Cheryl), Davey White (Brooks), Greg Kloster (Jennifer), Amanda Munford (Junior) and Timothy Irby (Priya); eight great-grandchildren, Ciara Chaisson (Mark), Cody Kloster, Hanna Kloster, Claire White, Winston White, Tripp Munford, Rainey Sue Munford and Sonali Irby; stepgrandson, James Carrier; two great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Chaisson and Raylan Michael Chaisson; sisters, Carolyn Murphy, Pearl Whitehead, Betty Raiford (Merrill), Shirley Ferguson (Pat), Willie Williams and Janie Benson; her precious brother, Jesse Benson; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Bea grew up in Franklin. She was a long-time member of Franklin Baptist Church and the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. Bea was a career nurse for many years at Southampton Memorial Hospital. She passed on her love, caring and determination to “keep moving forward” to her devoted family. Bea enjoyed reading and being with her family. The family would like to thank everyone that came to visit and Amedisys Hospice Care for helping with mother’s care during her final days.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggest that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to your local rescue squad. Following the service, the family will gather at the home of Sue and Ed Martin, 317 Old Sedley Road, Franklin.
