The Southampton County community came together recently for the Speaklife End of Summer Party at the Courtland Community Center.
“The goal was simply to promote unity in the Southampton community and give the children something free and fun to do,” said Kashif Carter, whose organizations The Speaklife Group and Changing the Narrative were primary sponsors of the event.
He noted that children partaking in the party received school supplies and had the opportunity to enjoy food, ice cream, face painting, games, a bounce house, funnel cake, free books and more.
Carter stated that in addition to his organizations, main sponsors of the party included Diamond Grove Baptist Church, Harvest Christian Fellowship, Down The Middle Foundation, Kingdom Impact, Sycamore Baptist Church and Cofield’s Locksmith.
