National Night Out set for Aug. 3 in Franklin and Southampton County

Southampton County and the City of Franklin will each be the site of National Night Out events Tuesday evening, Aug. 3, from 6-9 p.m.

National Night Out provides an opportunity for everyone in the community to fellowship with local police as well as neighbors and local businesses.

The Southampton County Sheriff’s Office is presenting a National Night Out event held on the Franklin/Southampton County Fair Grounds, located at 25374 New Market Road in Courtland. There will be free hot dogs, chips and drinks, live music, DJ Ladi Duchess, a K-9 demo, vehicle tours, bounce houses, face painting and corn hole.

The National Night Out event in Franklin will be held in Armory Drive Recreational Park, located at 910 Armory Drive. Several of the Franklin Police Department’s public safety partners will be on-site, including the Virginia State Police, the HEAT Program, Franklin Fire & Rescue and Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Department. There will be free hot dogs, entertainment and activities for all.
