To the Editor:

I am a retired police officer and 45 year member of the Fraternal Order of Police. I read with great interest the recent article where 75th District Delegate Roslyn Tyler claimed to be a friend of law enforcement. Nothing can be further from the truth. She is a proud member of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus. This organization including her have introduced or supported every anti law enforcement bill introduced in the Virginia Legislature including ending qualified immunity for police officers which protects them from being personally sued when they make mistakes. If they are successful in this goal a profession having a very difficult time getting applicants will get less. Very few want that job now and none will once this protection is taken away. Who wants a job where you make a mistake at work and could lose everything you have.

Tyler and other Democrats proposed and passed the small State Police pay raise for political cover in an election year knowing all of their proposed anti police bills would surface at campaign time. Don’t be fooled by this political trick.

Do the research yourself. The truth is easy to find. Delegate Tyler is many things but a friend of law enforcement is certainly not one of them.
