BOYKINS – Hazel I. Rollins of Clarksbury Road, Boykins, transitioned to eternal rest and peace on July 7, 2021, while a resting in her home. Her earthly journey began on Dec. 24, 1945 in Southampton County, born to Charlie and Annie Powell Blunt.

Hazel attended Riverview High School in the county, but ultimately graduated from I.C. Norcom High School. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Deaconess Ministry since 1986.

Hazel’s father preceded her in death along with her sister, Karen Johnson and grandson, Darren Rollins. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Willie L. Rollins; two daughters, Concertina Cook (Charles III) and Tierney Mason (Keith); two sons, Boris Rollins (Lucy) and Dorn Rollins (Ellenor); her loving mother, Annie Blunt; four sisters, Gloria Brown, Juanita Cross, Angela Bannister (William) and Leicha Blunt; two brothers, Charlie Blunt Jr. (Dewander), Juan Carlos Blunt (Barbara); 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A public viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 16, at 1 p.m. in White Oak Spring Baptist Church, 26125 Delaware Road, Franklin, with the Rev. Terrance Gregory delivering the eulogy; Rev. Melvin Wofford is the senior pastor. The committal and benediction will be held in Drewryville at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
