SEDLEY – Karen Jo McNair, 64, passed away July 5, 2021 in her home after a long fight with cancer. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on Oct. 30, 1956 and was a military child who lived in Hawaii, Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

Karen was the first woman member of the Franklin Lions Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and going to the beach.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Richard Alan McNair; three daughters, Tiffany McNair Ricks (Richard Hendrick), Darla Mae Howell (Chad), Lori Lea McNair (Frank Ricks); her mother, Donna Ward Ries; two sisters, Vicki Xinos (Peter) and Karen’s twin, Kathy Sue Rogers; a brother, Tarrell Lee Ries (Monica); three grandchildren, Hunter Shelton Ricks, Landon McNair Ricks and Nora Lea Ricks; her best friend of 40 plus years, Teri Pennington; and a host of nieces and nephews. Karen is predeceased by her father, Ronald Eugene Ries and a brother-in-law, Rex Rogers.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 9 in Wright Funeral Home. Following the service there will be a gathering at Fred’s Restaurant. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Franklin Lions Club.
