Franklin police seek shooting suspect

The Franklin Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place early Saturday morning in the vicinity of Dorchester Square Apartments.
According to Sgt. Scott Halverson, department spokesman, officers responded at 3:57 a.m. to a reported gunshot victim, where they found a 28-year-old Black male with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. The victim was transported by air ambulance to Norfolk General Hospital.
The officers’ investigation led them to obtain warrants for the arrest of Jarvis Derel Gray, a 29-year-old Black male described as being 5-foot-9-inches in height, weighing approximately 170 pounds. He is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, felony reckless handling of a firearm and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
