SEDLEY – James Alton Bulls Sr., 83, affectionately known as “Pop”, passed away April 15, 2021 in his home with family by his side. James was born in Southampton County on Sept. 5, 1937 and was a son of the late Eddie Norfleet Bull Sr. and Minnie Stieh Bulls. He was also predeceased by an infant son, Jeffrey Douglas Bulls, a brother, E.N. Bulls Jr. (Kathleen), daughter-in-law, Robin H. Bulls, a sister-in-law, Madeline Bulls and a grandson, Troy Stephens.

James was an Army veteran. He was a retired security officer for Union Camp Corporation and a farmer and raised cattle.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Irene Blythe Bulls; two daughters, Renae “Hunt” Hewett (Chris) and Robin B. Stephens (Irvin); a son, James Alton “Al” Bulls Jr. (Betty); two sisters, Nancy Pfeiffer (Leroy) and Sue D. Early (Milton); four brothers, Dr. Bob Bulls, Jack Bulls (Judy), Gene Bulls and Hugh Bulls; seven grandchildren, Allie (Robert), Faith (Lee), Jordan, Jamie (Mystee), Trey (Destinee), Corey (Sarah) and Shaia; three great-grandchildren, Waverly, Addee and Carter Anne; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside aervice with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 19 in Rosemont Cemetery with Pastor David Dillon officiating. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Sedley Fire Department or Como Ruritan Club.
