Franklin police seek shooting suspect

The Franklin Police Department is seeking 19-year-old Quatavious Sharpe on charges of attempted homicide and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

According to Sgt. Scott Halverson, department spokesman, police responded to a shots fired call in the 700 block of Oak Street at approximately 8:56 p.m. April 5, where they observed an individual matching the description of the shooter provided by the callers.

This led them to To’Quawn Newsome, 22, of Franklin, whom they arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and willfully discharging a firearm in a public place.

Police are still looking for Sharpe, whom they describe as a Black male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 190 pounds. Anyone with information on this crime or Sharpe’s whereabouts is asked to call the FPD at 757-562-8575 or Franklin Crime Solvers at 757-562-8599. Information that leads to an arrest can earn the caller a cash reward while remaining anonymous.
