Pleasant Shade Missionary Baptist Church recently paid honor to Mother Rachel Lewis.

She began attending the church under pastor Rev. C.M. Sessoms as a teenager. She later joined the church under pastor Rev. J.L. Gaskins.

Married to the late Deacon John Lewis, she has served as an usher, choir member, deaconess, and currently as a missionary and mother of the church under pastor Rev. Dr. Willis Freeman Sr.
