Southampton County Commissioner of Revenue Amy Carr announced on Monday that the enrollment period’s open now for the county’s real estate tax relief program.

In order to qualify for this program, Carr stated, a resident must be 65 or older or permanently and totally disabled. Further, that person’s gross income must be under $40,300.99, and net financial worth — excluding residence — cannot exceed $168,501.

“You must own and live in the residence for which you are requesting relief,” she added. Applications are available from her office. If you are eligible for this program and need additional information, call 653-3030, ext. 3309.

The deadline to apply is March 1.
