Lynn Parker
SEDLEY – William Lynn Parker, 85, passed away Nov. 30, 2020, in his home. Born in Southampton County, he was a son of the late William Henry Parker and Josie Vivian Whitehead Parker. He was also predeceased by his wife Frances Wendell Parker, three sisters, three brothers, three sons-in-law, Jeffrey Everett, Robbie Madron and Ira Romines.
Lynn was a loyal employee of J. H. Lee Construction Company for over 50 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his five children, Judy Clark (Larry) of Carrsville, Douglas Parker (Connie) of Franklin, Coramae Madron of Courtland, Melissa Griffin (Pope) of Franklin and Addie Sue Everett of Sedley; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Mooch.
A graveside service to celebrate Lynn and Frances’ life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, at Joyner United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Bill Holcomb officiating. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to The American Cancer Society, 477 Viking Dr. Ste. 130, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
