FRANKLIN — Dale Edward Marlin, 82, passed away on Oct. 26, 2020, in The Village at Woods Edge.

Born in Nashville, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Robert and Oline Karnes Marlin.

Dale was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired electrician for International Paper. He was also an electrical engineer/site superintendent for Contel Page in Saudia Arabia, and a former union president at Union Camp Particleboard.

He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and a member of Kingdom Life Ministries.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Helen King Marlin; two daughters, Dawn Marlin Worrell and Dianna Marlin Whitehurst (Buddy), both of Franklin; a son, Dale Edward Marlin II (Sherre) of Franklin; a sister, Joyce Forgarty of Madison, Tennessee; two brothers, Bud Marlin of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Don Marlin of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Randy Bradshaw Worrell Jr., Lindsay Worrell Speight, Colby Lauren Worrell, Hunter Jeff Eggleston and Mackenzie Brooke Marlin; and one great-grandchild, Parker Speight, and one more on the way, Layla.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, in Wright Funeral Home, with Pastor Matt Kidd officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday in Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
