FRANKLIN
The Franklin Business Center, located at 601 N. Mechanic St., will be the polling place for Franklin residents residing in the city’s sixth ward, should they choose to vote in-person for the Nov. 3 election.
According to City Registrar Jennifer Maynard, neither St. Jude’s Catholic Church, which is the normal polling location for Ward 6 residents, nor Franklin Congregational Church, which served as the alternate site for the June 23 Republican primary, will be available Nov. 3.
“Affected voters will be notified by mail,” Maynard said.
Oct. 23, at 5 p.m. is the last day to request an absentee ballot in Virginia. In-person early voting at the Franklin registrar’s office ends Oct. 31. In addition to regular hours, local voter registration offices will be open Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 31.
Absentee ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3. Voters who requested absentee ballots can drop off their marked and sealed ballots at their local registrar’s office or polling place up to 7 p.m. Nov. 3.
