FRANKLIN— John H. Kindred of Campbell Avenue, Franklin, transitioned from his earthly life to claim his eternal rest and peace on Oct. 22, 2020, while surrounded by love ones.

On June 9, 1950, he was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Herbert and Mattie Whitehead Owens.

John was a 1970 graduate of Hayden High School.

He was a retired truck driver with 25 years of service to Heilig-Meyers Furniture Store. Later in life, he was gainfully employed with Southampton County Public School System.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Regina Kindred; one daughter, ShaTerra Norris (Raymond) of Navarre, Florida; one son, Lamont Hill (Whitney) of Franklin; brother, James Lee Kindred (Alice); his grandchildren, Kingston Norris, Tatiana Hill, Natalie Hill and Lamont Hill Jr.; his godchildren, DeMartin Miles and Frelicia Miles; nieces, nephews cousins and many caring co-workers and friends.

The service for Mr. Kindred will be private; however, a family and public viewing will be held in the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 26, from 2 to 7 p.m. His remains will be interred in Southview Cemetery.

A service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 224 S. Main St.
