FRANKLIN — Kathryn Harrell “Kitty” Earley, 90, passed away on Oct. 15, 2020.

Born in Colerain, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Cecil Harrison Harrell and Nettie Mae Valentine Harrell. Kitty was also predeceased by two brothers, Ollie and David Harrell; and a sister, Nancy H. Draughn.

Kitty was a 1947 graduate of Colerain High School and attended Kings Secretarial School. She was a retired secretary for Franklin City Schools, and was a member of Woodmen of the World and Franklin Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Willie Merton “Bill” Earley Jr.; a daughter, Suzanne Valentine Earley; a son, W.M. ”Chip” Earley III and his wife, Honor Reese Earley, all of Smithfield; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Harrell of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Dianne Harrell of Colerain, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Harvey Draughn of Clemons, North Carolina; and nieces and nephews.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, services will be held at a later date.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Franklin Baptist Church.
