To the Editor:

Our 58 business corridor was all but destroyed when an EF-2 tornado came through. Many businesses were severely damaged or destroyed as were the homes in the area. The rest of us were totally blessed to escape that kind of damage.

Bertie County, North Carolina, also had severe damage and their governor came to see the utter destruction. However, WHERE has Gov. [Ralph] Northam been? Not here.

I checked with Mike Johnson, county administrator, to find out for sure that he had not made an official visit. What did they have to do that was more important? These business and homeowners have suffered tremendous emotional stress and financial loss of millions of dollars.
