The Franklin Police Department is requesting the public’s help in a case involving a reported fight and shots fired.

Sgt. Scott Halverson, the agency spokesman, reported that at 8:20 p.m. on Friday, the communications center got a call of a large fight in the area of Bracey Street and Maplewood Avenue.

“While officers were enroute to the call, a second call came into the communications center about shots being fired in the area,” he stated. “Officers arrived on scene and did not locate anyone in possession of a firearm and there was no fight in progress. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the scene. There have been no injuries reported and no property was identified having been damaged.”

He added that Franklin police have seen a Facebook video of what happened during this incident.

“We ask for the community’s assistance in locating any additional videos that may be available on social media sites,” said Halverson. “If you have any information in reference to this case, or the Facebook video you can call the Franklin Police Department at 562-8575, reach out to us on Facebook, and Franklin Crime Solvers at 562-8599, where you can remain anonymous and earn a cash reward of up to $1,000.”
