Riverdale Elementary School announces its 2020 Teacher of the Year, Michele Winters. Winters teaches second grade and has been instructing students for 28 years.

She is an honor graduate of Christopher Newport University and continues to guide students each year to achieve their own honors.

Winters has experience in first, second and third grades throughout her years. She often serves as a mentor for newly hired teachers as well as her second grade team.

According to Winters, she has spent her entire teaching career in Southampton County and is “proud to be a lifelong teacher in the Southampton system.”
